🎯 Job Summary

The IT Support Officer is responsible for providing technical assistance, maintaining IT infrastructure, supporting core banking systems, and ensuring compliance with IT security policies. The role ensures smooth operation of enterprise applications, network connectivity, and end-user systems.


πŸ”§ Specific Duties and Responsibilities

πŸ’» Technical Support

  • Provide timely technical support for hardware, software, network, and system issues
  • Install and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and IT equipment
  • Log, track, and resolve IT support tickets
  • Conduct basic user training on system usage and IT policies

🏦 Core Banking & Applications Support

  • Support users in core banking systems and business applications
  • Assist in system upgrades, testing, and installations
  • Maintain system access control and user account management
  • Report recurring issues and recommend improvements

🌐 Network & Connectivity Support

  • Maintain LAN/WAN connectivity and network devices
  • Support VPN access, internet connectivity, and branch communications
  • Monitor network performance and report abnormalities

  • Ensure adherence to IT security policies
  • Support antivirus updates and system patching
  • Report security incidents or suspicious activities
  • Assist in data backup and basic disaster recovery processes

  • Maintain IT asset inventory
  • Prepare periodic reports
  • Keep support logs and technical documentation
  • Perform any other IT-related duties assigned by the Supervisor

πŸŽ“ Qualifications, Experience & Skills

πŸŽ“ Education

  • MSc/BSc Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field

πŸ•’ Experience

  • 4–6 years of relevant IT support experience
  • Experience in Microfinance Institutions, Banks, or Financial Institutions is required

πŸ›  Technical Skills

  • Strong hardware & software troubleshooting
  • Good knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, and email systems
  • Basic networking knowledge (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN)
  • Experience with financial/core banking applications (Advantage)
  • Knowledge of helpdesk/ticketing systems
  • Understanding of user access control & information security
