1. Protection Assistant – Monitoring

  • Duty Station: Assosa, Ethiopia Field Office
  • Contract Length: 5 Months (National Contract)
  • Start Date: May 1, 2026
  • Band: I2 – Non-Management
  • Number of Positions: 1

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or University degree in social sciences, law, social work, international development, or related field
  • Minimum 1 year experience in humanitarian response and refugee/IDP protection
  • Experience with protection monitoring or assessments using Kobo or ActivityInfo
  • Strong data collection, analysis, and reporting skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Kobo experience desirable
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Amharic; local language skills an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct protection monitoring in assigned areas
  • Collect, encode, and analyze data on protection trends and risks
  • Identify individuals at risk and refer for assistance
  • Support Individual Protection Assistance and coordination with Community Based Protection Networks (CBPNs)
  • Maintain documentation, contribute to daily/weekly/monthly reports

2. Protection Officer – PSS

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in humanitarian/IDP protection roles
  • Experience using Kobo and ActivityInfo for data collection and reporting
  • Strong planning, analytical, and team collaboration skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of local language is an advantage

Responsibilities:

  • Implement protection monitoring and PSS activities
  • Support protection data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Provide assistance to individuals with protection needs
  • Maintain relationships with CBPNs and other stakeholders
  • Participate in protection assessments and document lessons learned

3. Protection Specialist

  • Band: G2 – Non-Management

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in social work, social science, law, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ practical experience in protection monitoring, analysis, or research
  • Experience in protection data collection, analysis, and reporting methodologies
  • Familiarity with international human rights, refugee law, Protection Analytical Framework (PAF), and Protection Information Management principles
  • Excellent English and Amharic skills

Responsibilities:

  • Lead protection monitoring program in Benishangul-Gumuz
  • Develop and implement protection monitoring methodologies and data collection tools
  • Analyze protection trends and produce reports
  • Support capacity building for CBPNs and protection staff
  • Coordinate with partners, UN agencies, NGOs, and government authorities

4. Consortium Manager

  • Contract Length: 1 year 6 months (Expatriate/National Contract)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in political science, international development, social work, humanitarian law, migration, or related field
  • At least 7 years’ experience in international humanitarian/development programs
  • Minimum 3 years’ people management experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-location programs and multi-partner teams
  • Knowledge of inclusive systems, protection, gender, health, or resilience programming

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the consortium and manage project delivery across Benishangul-Gumuz (Ethiopia) and Gedaref (Sudan)
  • Strategic oversight, risk management, and donor reporting
  • Lead integrated project teams and coordinate partner organizations
  • Ensure project results, quality, and compliance with donor requirements
  • Serve as principal point of contact with donor and stakeholders
