World Vision Ethiopia began its operations in 1971 with relief interventions and formally established its national office in 1975. Today, the organization operates across 53 Area Programs (APs) executing impactful initiatives in Education, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Nutrition, Emergency Response, Food Security, Economic Development, and Climate Change.
The organization is currently seeking qualified professionals to fill three open positions across its National Office and field operations.
Open Positions & Requirements
1. Fleet Manager
- Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (National Office)
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Education Requirement: BA or MA Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A technical qualification is considered an advantage.
- Experience Required:
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in fleet operations management.
- At least two (2) years of direct experience in people management/managerial roles.
- Core Responsibilities:
- Act as a strategic partner to the Leadership Team by integrating fleet/supply chain functions into emergency response programming.
- Supervise and coordinate the acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of national office fleet vehicles.
- Manage end-to-end secondary transport logistics and evaluate the performance of third-party transporter fleets, owned fleets, and drivers.
- Enforce compliance with the Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking tools, review log sheets, audit fuel/tire limits, and oversee vehicle insurance and 24-hour accident reporting mechanisms.
- Direct performance appraisals and annual leave scheduling for Head Office drivers.
- Technical Skills: Logistics planning and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong written and spoken English proficiency alongside local language capability is required.

2. Clinical Nurse
- Location: Afar, Ethiopia (Field-based with frequent travel to remote, hard-to-reach, or conflict-prone environments)
- Project Framework: USG/DoS multi-sector emergency response project.
- Education Requirement: Diploma or BSc Degree in Nursing.
- Experience Required:
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of clinical experience.
- Direct experience within emergency or humanitarian settings is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience working inside a Mobile Health and Nutrition Team (MHNT) or outreach service structure is an asset.
- Core Responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient clinical consultations, triage, and stabilization for emergency conditions following national guidelines and WHO protocols.
- Deliver Maternal and Child Health (MCH) care, manage Severe/Moderate Acute Malnutrition (SAM/MAM) tracking, and support local immunization initiatives.
- Participate in MHNT outreach deployments to deliver curative, preventive, and promotive services in vulnerable areas.
- Document data and submit daily, weekly, and monthly health surveillance reports.

3. Community Mobilizer
- Location: Afar, Ethiopia (Field-based with frequent travel inside target woredas such as Asyita and Afambo)
- Project Framework: USG/DoS multi-sector emergency response project.
- Education Requirement: Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Sociology, or a related field.
- Experience Required:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in community mobilization or humanitarian activities.
- Specific background within emergency response operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with the indigenous community structures of the Afar region is an asset.
- Core Responsibilities:
- Mobilize local populations to participate actively across health, nutrition, WASH, non-food item (NFI), and protection interventions.
- Design and conduct Risk Communication & Community Engagement (RCCE) public awareness campaigns utilizing megaphones, banners, and leaflets to mitigate disease outbreaks (e.g., cholera, malaria, measles).
- Address community misinformation, record beneficiary grievances, and uphold Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) standards.
- Work alongside local Health Extension Workers (HEWs) and village volunteers to clear pathways for NFI, cash, or food distributions.
