Lovegrass Agro Processing Vacancy Announcement

Lovegrass Agro Processing Plc is an innovative healthy food manufacturing company with corporate offices in Addis Ababa and London. Established to bring global recognition to Ethiopia’s nutrient-dense superfood—ጤፍ (teff)—Lovegrass operates an ethical, organic agribusiness model. By processing pesticide-free teff and trading directly with global markets, the company aims to empower smallholder farmers and elevate traditional agricultural practices.

Lovegrass is currently looking for talented individuals to fill two (2) distinct positions designed for both seasoned corporate leaders and fresh university graduates.

Open Positions & Specifications

1. Human Resources Manager

  • Department: Human Resources & Corporate Administration
  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Strategic Leadership: Formulate and execute a scalable HR strategy to support Lovegrass’s multi-location expansion. Serve as a core advisor to the executive suite on culture, change management, and employee engagement.
    • Talent & Systems Architecture: Build aggressive talent acquisition pipelines for technical manufacturing and commercial teams. Lead the selection, integration, and roll-out of a modern Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
    • Performance & Reward: Design equitable compensation matrices tailored for both urban corporate offices and rural processing sites. Enforce fair performance management and reward frameworks.
    • Policy & Compliance: Document and standardize corporate employee handbooks while ensuring strict adherence to Ethiopian labor laws, tax codes, and pension regulations across all processing sites.
  • Qualifications & Experience Required:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field. An MBA or professional HR certification is highly advantageous.
    • Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, with a mandatory baseline of at least 5 years serving in a senior HR management role.
    • Preferred: Direct experience designing and setting up HR departments within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or agribusiness sectors.

2. Graduate Trainee Internship

  • Department: Cross-Departmental Rotations (Tailored to educational background)
  • Employment Type: Internship Program
  • Experience Required: 0 Years (Targeting Fresh Graduates looking to establish their careers).
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Support daily departmental operations, data compiling, tracking, and administrative documentation.
    • Participate in structured technical training, professional development programs, and agribusiness mentorship paths.
    • Collaborate on multi-disciplinary team projects and carry out operational tasks assigned by supervisors.
  • Qualifications Required:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant academic field (e.g., Accounting, Management, Engineering, Agriculture, or Marketing).
    • Good foundational communication, strong interpersonal skills, a positive learning attitude, and a baseline proficiency in the Microsoft Office pack.
