In Ethiopia, Geneva Global is implementing Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia (LiTE), a flagship initiative of the Mastercard Foundation aimed at strengthening teacher supply, instructional leadership, and student transitions in low-performing secondary schools.

Geneva Global Ethiopia invites qualified and competent candidates to apply for the following positions:


1. Gender Equality, Safeguarding and Inclusion (GESI) Officer

Program: Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia (LiTE)
Number of Positions: 2

  • Somali Region (Jigjiga) – 1
  • Southwest Ethiopia Peoples’ Region & Gambella – 1

Reports To: LiTE Program Lead (Country Office)
Duty Station: Assigned region with frequent travel to target schools

Job Summary

The GESI Officer leads the integration of gender equality, safeguarding, disability inclusion, and youth-centered approaches across LiTE-supported secondary schools to ensure safe, inclusive, and empowering learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct gender assessments and promote gender-responsive pedagogy
  • Lead safeguarding and child protection policy implementation
  • Strengthen reporting mechanisms and survivor-centered case management
  • Support disability inclusion, referrals, assistive devices, and inclusive teaching
  • Facilitate youth engagement, mentorship, and leadership initiatives
  • Lead community sensitization and Back-to-Learning campaigns
  • Support access, retention, transition, and career guidance activities
  • Collect and analyze GESI-related monitoring data
  • Conduct training and capacity-building on GESI and safeguarding

Qualifications & Experience

  • MA or BA Degree in Gender Studies, Education, Social Work, Psychology, Development Studies, or related fields
  • Experience:
    • MA: Minimum 3 years
    • BA: Minimum 5 years
  • Experience working with adolescents in secondary schools
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, GBV risk mitigation, disability inclusion, and child rights
  • Knowledge of local languages is an advantage

2. Field Program Manager

Program: Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia (LiTE)
Number of Positions: 7

Duty Stations:

  • Benishangul-Gumuz (Assossa) – 1
  • Gambella (Gambella) – 1
  • Somali (Jigjiga) – 1
  • SWEP: Tercha – 1 | Bonga – 1
  • Sidama (Hawassa) – 1
  • Harari (Harar – overseeing Harar, Dire Dawa, East & West Hararghe) – 1

Reports To: LiTE Program Lead
Duty Station: Assigned region with frequent travel

Job Summary

The Field Program Manager provides regional leadership and coordination to ensure quality implementation of LiTE program pillars including teacher development, leadership strengthening, access & inclusion, and student transition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead regional planning and coordination
  • Oversee school-level program implementation
  • Engage education bureaus, universities, and TVET institutions
  • Promote access, inclusion, safeguarding, and youth participation
  • Support monitoring, learning, and documentation
  • Coordinate community engagement and Back-to-Learning campaigns
  • Produce regular regional reports and success stories

Qualifications & Experience

  • MA or BA Degree in Education, Development Studies, Management, or related fields
  • Experience:
    • MA: Minimum 5 years
    • BA: Minimum 7 years
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Knowledge of secondary education reforms and CBC
  • Local language proficiency is an advantage

3. Regional MEAL Officer

Reports To: MEAL Manager
Duty Stations:

  • Southwest Ethiopia Region
  • Somali Region
  • Benishangul-Gumuz Region

Job Summary

The Regional MEAL Officer leads monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning activities to support evidence-based decision-making across LiTE-supported schools.

Qualifications & Experience

  • BA/BSc Degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Education, or related fields
  • Minimum 5 years MEAL experience
  • Strong experience with data collection, analysis, and visualization tools
  • Experience working with government and community structures
  • Proficiency in English and at least one regional language is desirable

4. Regional Finance and Administration Officer

Number of Positions: 4

Duty Stations:

  • Benishangul-Gumuz (Assossa) – 1
  • Somali (Jigjiga) – 1
  • Gambella (Gambella) – 1
  • SWEP (Bonga) – 1

Employment Type: Full-Time
Duration: One year (renewable)
Reports To: LiTE Finance Lead

Qualifications & Experience

  • BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields
  • 3–5 years relevant experience (NGO experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of donor-funded financial management
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office

5. Finance Assistant

Number of Positions: 2
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Employment Type: Full-Time
Duration: Based on project availability

Qualifications & Experience

  • BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience
  • Experience with NGOs or donor-funded projects is an advantage
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Peachtree, etc.)
