Finn Church Aid (FCA) is Finland’s largest international aid organization, operating across 12 countries. The organization specializes in three thematic priority areas: Right to Peace ($R2P$), Right to Livelihood ($R2L$), and Right to Quality Education ($R2QE$). In Ethiopia, FCA implements both humanitarian and development programs across the education, peace, and livelihood sectors.

FCA Ethiopia is currently seeking qualified national professionals to fill two full-time project management positions based out of the Addis Ababa office.

Open Project Management Positions

1. Project Manager (UNHCR Funded Labour Mobility Project)

  • Department: Program
  • Duty Station: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (with frequent travel to field implementation sites in Gondar, Assosa, Jijiga, Gambella, and broader programming areas).
  • Duration: 6 months with a possibility of extension.
  • Primary Purpose: Manage, coordinate, and ensure quality, timely implementation and reporting of FCA’s UNHCR-funded project focusing on refugee labour mobility and durable solutions.
  • Core Responsibilities:
    • Track project activities, analyze target outcomes, and ensure efficient, accountable project delivery.
    • Review and monitor budget vs. expenditure data on a monthly basis to manage financial variance.
    • Provide technical guidance and direct supervision to project staff.
    • Author and review narrative project updates and financial reports according to UNHCR standards.
    • Ensure alignment with FCA, donor, and Ethiopian Government guidelines regarding education, safeguarding, and child protection.
    • Represent FCA at Inter-Agency meetings, cluster groups, donor consultations, and local government briefings.
  • Qualifications & Experience:
    • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Social Sciences, Business, or a related field along with a professional certification.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in development and humanitarian field operations, specifically within the refugee context in Ethiopia.
    • Deep understanding of protection, resettlement, livelihoods, and trajectories along durable solutions or complementary pathways (local integration, labour mobility).
    • Experience cooperating with local government frameworks, UN agencies, and international actors.

2. Project Coordinator (BRIGHT Project)

  • Contract Type: Fixed-term
  • Duty Station: Addis Ababa (with frequent field visits to current and prospective project locations).
  • Reporting Line: Directly reports to the Head of Program.
  • Primary Purpose: Ensure high-quality planning, implementation, budget tracking, and reporting of FCA’s BRIGHT Project, including direct capacity-building and oversight of local co-implementation partners.
  • Core Responsibilities:
    • Manage approved project work plans, execute regular data collection, and verify compliance with monitoring and evaluation metrics.
    • Work closely with, mentor, and assist local partners in executing allocated project components.
    • Maintain proper financial management and ensure compliance with institutional and ministry-level safeguarding policies.
    • Document and compile lessons learned, contextual analyses, and challenge reports to guide institutional learning.
    • Lead large-scale joint Multi-Sector Needs Assessments across various regions of Ethiopia to shape future country programming.
    • Represent the organization externally at Education Cluster Meetings and bilateral donor consultations.
  • Qualifications & Experience:
    • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Business, or a related field alongside professional certification.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in development and humanitarian program field operations in developing nations.
    • Robust knowledge of and experience with Education programs, including teacher training and Accelerated Education/Learning Programmes (AEP/ALP) within development and Education in Emergencies (EiE) settings in Ethiopia.
    • Sector experience in livelihoods programming, specifically Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Durable Solutions, is highly advantageous.
