Elsabi Micro Finance Institution S.Co. (EMFI) is a formal microfinance provider in Ethiopia licensed by the National Bank of Ethiopia. The institution leverages modern mobile technology to bridge the financial gap for unbanked micro and small-scale businesses, low-income earners, farmers, women, and youth.
EMFI is seeking qualified and competent professionals to fill several open positions. Salaries for all roles are determined based on the institution’s official salary scale.
Open Positions & Specifications
1. Saving and Credit Officer
- Required Quantity: 3
- Place of Work: Addis Ababa and Adama
- Reports To: Branch Manager I
- Job Summary: Undertake social promotion (including group organization) and handle client mobilization for saving and loan collections. Screen organized clients, facilitate loan appraisal, and coordinate approved loan disbursements and collection schedules.
- Job Requirements: Degree, College Diploma, or Level IV certificate (with mandatory COC) in Cooperative Management, Accounting, Banking and Finance, or Management. Minimum of 1 year of experience for BA holders, or a minimum of 2 years of related experience for Diploma/Level IV holders. Experience in a Micro Finance Institution is an asset.
2. Branch Accountant I
- Required Quantity: 3
- Place of Work: Addis Ababa
- Reports To: Branch Manager I
- Job Summary: Handle all financial activities and transactions of the branch in accordance with organizational policies. Coordinate branch financial operations and serve as a member of the branch’s Loan Approving Committee.
- Job Requirements: B.A. Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 1 year of related work experience. Experience in a Micro Finance Institution is an asset.
3. Branch Manager I
- Required Quantity: 2
- Place of Work: Addis Ababa
- Reports To: Operation Manager
- Job Summary: Plan, organize, coordinate, lead, and supervise branch operational activities and personnel. Manage and control financial resources (payments and receipts), provide financial services (loans, deposits, and insurance), and participate in institutional planning.
- Job Requirements: BA Degree in Economics, Management, Accounting, Banking and Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. A minimum of 2 years of extensive experience in a related field. Experience in a Micro Finance Institution is an asset.
4. Senior Risk and Internal Audit
- Place of Work: Addis Ababa
- Reports To: Risk and Internal Audit Head / CEO
- Job Summary: Utilize the Riskonnect platform to identify, analyze, and evaluate corporate risks, ensuring the system is regularly updated to capture emerging risk profiles.
- Job Requirements: BA Degree in Accounting or Auditing. Requires a minimum of 2 years of working experience in microfinance, banking, insurance, or related fields. Experience in a Micro Finance Institution is an asset.
5. Risk and Internal Audit Head
- Place of Work: Addis Ababa (Main Office)
- Reports To: Board / CEO
- Job Summary: Prepare annual internal audit plans and work schedules. Identify risk-prone financial, procurement, and operational areas to set priority targets, determine audit programs, and establish sampling techniques and sample sizes.
- Job Requirements: BA Degree in Accounting or Auditing. Requires a minimum of 3 years of working experience in microfinance, banking, insurance, or related fields. Experience in a Micro Finance Institution is an asset.
