Aggar Microfinance S.C. is the first commercial private microfinance institution established in Ethiopia, originally formed under Proclamation No. 40/96 (now operating under Proclamation No. 626/2009). Headquartered in Addis Ababa, the institution focuses on serving the “missing middle” by providing tailored credit and savings solutions across both urban and rural communities.

Aggar MFI is currently seeking qualified, capable, and career-driven professionals to fill the following vacant positions at its Head Office.

Open Positions & Requirements

1. Auditor

  • Education: BA Degree or College Diploma in Accounting or a closely related financial field.
  • Work Experience: * Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience for BA Degree holders.
    • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience for College Diploma holders.
  • Core Competencies & Skills:
    • Solid understanding of the microfinance business landscape and operations.
    • Practical knowledge of modern auditing methodologies and company operational compliance.
    • Proven ability to analyze financial statements and underlying trends.
    • Mandatory computer literacy, with proficient skills in Microsoft Office (specifically advanced Excel and Word functions).
    • Strong verbal communication and professional report writing skills.

2. Senior Attorney

  • Education: LLB Degree in Law.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant legal or litigation experience.
  • Core Competencies & Skills:
    • Language Requirement: Fluent command of the Afan Oromo language is mandatory.
    • Thorough understanding of the Oromia Region Constitution, regional court procedures, and official legal proceedings.
    • Comprehensive command of standard Ethiopian civil, criminal, and commercial codes and procedures.
    • Deep understanding of the principles, methods, and strategic development of litigation.
    • Ability to accurately interpret complex codes of law and deliver legally sound, authoritative expert opinions.
    • Mandatory proficiency in basic computer systems (Microsoft Excel and Word).
