
π Position: Educational Technical Assistant
π Duty Station: West Hararghe Zone, Chiro Town
π Contract Type: 6-month contract (with possible extension based on performance and funding)
π Required Qualification & Experience
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field. - Experience:
- Minimum 3β5 years of experience in teaching or educational program management, preferably with vulnerable children.
- Experience with Speed School programs or alternative learning approaches is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in academic tracking, data reporting, and organizing tutorial/remedial programs.
π οΈ Key Responsibilities
- Support academic growth of student beneficiaries and oversee tutorial programs.
- Monitor and track student progress through assessments and home visits.
- Train and guide tutorial teachers and facilitate individualized learning plans.
- Implement adult education and Speed School programs.
- Facilitate extracurricular activities and student clubs.
- Organize parent workshops and build community engagement on education.
- Lead gender and GBV awareness programs in collaboration with social workers.
- Ensure safe, inclusive learning environments and coordinate school transitions.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and beneficiary assessments.
- Represent the organization in education-focused forums and liaise with stakeholders.

- Strong understanding of child development and learning principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Strong documentation, report writing, and data analysis capabilities
- Fluency in Afaan Oromo, Amharic, and excellence in written English

- Gross Salary: Up to ETB 40,000 (based on USD exchange rate)
- Phone Communication Allowance: 2000 minutes/month
