VisionFund Micro Finance Institution S.C., a financial institution dedicated to serving productive individuals in rural and urban Ethiopia, is looking for a qualified and competent Branch Manager “D” to join their team in the South Regional Operation branches. This is a permanent position with an attractive salary.

Major Responsibilities:

The Branch Manager “D” will be responsible for the comprehensive management of the branch, including:

  • Portfolio Management: Overseeing overall portfolio growth and quality, and ensuring verification of client existence and creditworthiness.
  • Credit Operations: Chairing the Branch Credit Committee (BCC) and participating in loan evaluation, approval, or rejection within discretion levels.
  • Deposit Management: Ensuring saving deposit and withdrawals are conducted according to policies.
  • Operational Coordination: Coordinating growth areas and disbursement projections, managing and supervising branch staff for efficient service delivery, and overseeing the overall branch operation.
  • Human Resources: Planning personnel capacity, selecting new staff, undertaking fair and equitable HRM, evaluating existing staff, identifying capacity building needs, ensuring adequate training, and conducting annual performance appraisals and staff development plans.
  • Resource Management: Supervising the economical use of material resources (Generator, Motorcycles & Vehicles) and ensuring timely servicing.
  • Compliance: Managing the branch to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and internal controls, and deciding on operational and financial issues within regulatory frameworks.
  • Reporting & Communication: Performing independent balancing of records, working with other MFI management members, and attending quarterly branch managers meetings for team problem-solving and collaboration.
  • Planning & Integration: Developing and adjusting branch business plans and annual work plans, seeking approval from the SMT on targets and resources.
  • Marketing: Promoting loans, savings, and other branch services, and planning promotional measures within target markets.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: University Degree/Diploma in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Management, Banking, Marketing, Cooperative, Agricultural Economics, or related social sciences and business fields.
  • Experience: 4 years of related experience for Degree holders and 6 years for Diploma holders.
  • Personal Attributes: Determined personality with initiative, perseverance, capability and willingness to take responsibility, highly developed sense of rectitude, and readiness to comply with the organization’s ideals and Core Values.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Able to plan and manage finances, including a basic understanding of accounting. A good trainer, facilitator, mentor, and coach. Very good communication and marketing skills.
  • License: Motor bicycle driving skill and License.
