1. Electrical Engineer

  • Location: Addis Ababa

Job Summary:

We are searching for experienced Electrical Engineers to oversee the company’s new and ongoing construction projects at various phases. The successful candidates will be responsible for electrical system designs, including power supply and distribution systems, IT network systems, data center design, and Building Management Systems (BMS). Candidates must be familiar with Ethiopian standards, possess strong software skills, and be able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary design and construction team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and prepare technical documentation for electrical systems in buildings.
  • Develop power supply and distribution systems (for Power System Design role).
  • Design IT network systems, Data Centers, and BMS systems (for IT System Design role).
  • Prepare detailed electrical drawings using CAD software.
  • Ensure all designs comply with Ethiopian design standards and building codes.
  • Coordinate with other design teams to integrate electrical systems into larger project plans.
  • Use office and engineering design software to support drafting and analysis.
  • Participate in project meetings, reviews, and technical discussions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in electrical design.
  • Registration: Professionally registered with the relevant engineering institution.
  • Knowledge: Familiar with Ethiopian electrical and construction standards.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD and other design software.
  • Specific Experience: Strong experience in building electrical systems design. Specific experience in either:
    • Power System Design, or
    • IT Network System Design, including Data Center and BMS.
  • Language: Good English communication and writing skills.
  • Attributes: Must be team-oriented, disciplined, and able to follow company work arrangements.

Required Skills: Adaptability, Technical writing, Communication, Attention to detail, AutoCAD or Electrical CAD.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. HR Initiatives & Systems Development:
    • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
    • Assist in the preparation of job descriptions, posting advertisements, and managing the recruitment process.
  2. Employment Process Management:
    • Oversee all aspects of the employment process, from recruitment to onboarding.
    • Provide counseling on HR policies and procedures.
  3. Legal Compliance & Working Conditions:
    • Review employment and working conditions to ensure full compliance with Ethiopian labor laws.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of all employee information and HR records.
  4. Accurate Employee Record-Keeping:
    • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records for each employee, including personal details, employment history, attendance, payroll, performance reviews, training, and benefits.
    • Ensure record retention complies with Ethiopian legal requirements (typically a minimum of five years).
  5. Performance Evaluation:
    • Develop and implement a standardized process for evaluating employee performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, work quality, teamwork, punctuality, and initiative.
    • Schedule evaluations on an annual, quarterly, or probationary basis, and document all evaluation details securely.
  6. Bonus & Salary Increment Policies:
    • Establish a performance-based bonus system (including performance bonuses, annual bonuses, profit-sharing, and festival bonuses).
    • Define clear guidelines for salary increments based on annual performance reviews, promotions, and cost-of-living adjustments.
  7. Digital HR Systems:
    • Utilize HR management software to streamline record-keeping, performance tracking, and bonus management.
    • Ensure that all digital systems comply with data security and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management.
  • Experience: 1-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Registration: Professional registration with the appropriate institute is required.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • In-depth knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws.
    • Excellent English communication and writing skills.
