Position: Senior Human Resource Officer
Job Purpose:
To oversee and implement human resource strategies and functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and HR policy compliance, in alignment with Digaf’s mission and regulatory standards.
Reports to:
Chief People Officer
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment & Staffing
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for head office and branches
- Prepare job ads, screen applicants, and coordinate interviews
- Oversee onboarding for new employees
2. Performance Management
- Implement and monitor the performance appraisal system
- Assist managers in setting KPIs and providing feedback
3. Training & Development
- Identify employee training needs
- Coordinate internal and external training programs
- Evaluate training effectiveness
4. HR Policies & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to Ethiopian labor law and internal HR policies
- Update HR manuals and guidelines periodically
5. Employee Relations
- Address grievances and disciplinary matters fairly and promptly
- Foster a positive workplace culture and effective communication
6. HR Records & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, leave, and benefits
- Prepare HR reports and analytics for management
7. Compensation & Benefits
- Manage payroll inputs and liaise with Finance
- Administer employee benefit schemes and maintain records
About You
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field
- (Master’s degree is preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in financial institutions or microfinance organizations
Required Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Ethiopian labor law and HR best practices
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems
