Position: Data Encoder

• Location: Addis Ababa

Job Summary

The Data Encoder will be responsible for the accurate input, verification, and systematic organization of commercial data within the company’s internal databases. This position demands a high degree of processing speed, exceptional typing precision, and the capability to manage data workflows with minimal supervision while maintaining strict operational confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Entry & Processing: Accurately and rapidly encode commercial data into the corporate database, ensuring all raw data is organized correctly and in a timely manner.
• Verification & Quality Control: Cross-verify system data by comparing it directly to physical and digital source documents to systematically eliminate discrepancies, typing errors, or structural inconsistencies before final submission.
• Database Maintenance: Update active information systems, create new system records, purge obsolete profiles, and organize file structures so records remain up-to-date and easily accessible to the analytical team.
• Compliance & Security: Adhere strictly to the publisher’s data governance and digital security protocols, ensuring all sensitive business intelligence handles maintain absolute confidentiality and integrity.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent foundational qualification.
• Technical Skills: Proficient computer literacy with hands-on navigation skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Advantage: Prior familiarity with specialized data entry software or rapid numeric typing tools is a plus.
• Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong time-management skills, ability to prioritize shifting tasks under publication deadlines, and the communication skills required to report database errors to supervisors.
