Open Positions & Requirements
1. Communications Assistant (G5) — 2 Positions Available
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. a First-Level University Degree (Bachelor’s) or higher in History, Political Science, International Relations, Journalism, Communication, Marketing, or Tourism & Hospitality is highly advantageous.
- Experience: * Minimum of 5 years of experience in journalism, public information, strategic communication, tourism, or as a tour guide is required with a high school diploma.
- Reduced to a minimum of 3 years of experience for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Core Skills: Knowledge of strategic communications and information integrity risks (misinformation, disinformation, hate speech); strong storytelling, audience adaptation, and public presentation skills.
- Languages: Fluency in either English or French is required. Proficiency in Amharic, Arabic, or Chinese (Mandarin) is desirable.
2. Communications Assistant (G6) — 2 Positions Available
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. A University Degree in the fields of Communications, Journalism, Public/Business Administration, International Relations, or Cultural Heritage studies is highly preferred.
- Experience: * Minimum of 7 years of experience as a tour guide coordinator, or in public relations, journalism, marketing, and media strategy is required with a high school diploma.
- Reduced to a minimum of 5 years of experience for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Highly Desirable: 1 year or more of experience in data analytics or a related statistical reporting area.
- Languages: Fluency in either English or French is required. Knowledge of Amharic, Arabic, or Chinese is an asset.
3. Human Resources Assistant (G6)
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Formal training in human resources management or public administration is highly desirable.
- Experience: * Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources or administrative services is required with a high school diploma.
- Reduced to a minimum of 5 years of experience for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Mandatory Requirement: Direct experience in the administration of employee entitlements and benefits using an enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform such as Umoja (SAP) or equivalent enterprise human capital tools.
- Desirable: One year or more of experience in data analytics or previous work history within the United Nations or similar international NGOs.
- Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Working knowledge of French is desirable.
