
Merry Chemicals Manufacturer, a growing chemical manufacturing company based in Addis Ababa, is seeking a highly qualified, experienced, and dynamic Human Resources Manager. The successful candidate will lead the company’s HR strategy, enhance employee productivity, and align HR initiatives with long-term factory production and strategic organizational goals.
Position Overview

Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. HR Strategy, Planning, & Recruitment
- Design and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures to support company growth.
- Conduct workforce planning to accurately forecast staffing requirements based on factory production needs.
- Lead talent acquisition cycles, focusing heavily on manufacturing, technical, and chemical engineering roles.
2. Performance Management & Training
- Establish and monitor a robust employee Performance Appraisal system.
- Identify departmental training gaps and organize capacity-building programs to enhance technical workforce skills.
3. Legal Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all HR practices strictly comply with the Ethiopian Labor Law and relevant statutory regulations.
- Collaborate with Safety Officers to ensure rigorous enforcement of health, environmental, and occupational safety protocols within the chemical plant.
4. Employee Relations & Payroll
- Mediate workplace grievances, resolve conflicts constructively, and maintain open management-employee channels.
- Oversee the accurate administration of payroll, structural allowances, medical insurance, and employee benefits.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (MBA) in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- Experience:7 to 10 years of progressive experience in HR management, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Note: Direct experience working within a manufacturing plant or PLC setup is highly preferred.
Key Competencies:
- Deep, thorough knowledge of the Ethiopian Labor Law.
- Strong leadership, structural negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in computers and standard HR Management Systems (HRIS).
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both Amharic and English.
