Open Positions & Specifications
1. Service Engineer
- Position Title: Service Engineer (Biomedical / Electrical / Mechanical)
- Place of Work: Addis Ababa (with potential field/site travel)
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Required Experience: 0 / 2 / 4 Years (Fresh Graduates to Experienced Professionals)

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Installation & Commissioning:
- Install and commission medical equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and international safety standards.
- Conduct pre-installation site inspections and prepare readiness reports.
- Perform system configurations, software installations, parameter settings, operational qualification, and functional testing.
- Prepare installation reports, commissioning certificates, and official handover documentation for clients.
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance in alignment with service contracts and manufacturer guidelines.
- Respond promptly to customer service requests, site calls, and equipment breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot and identify root causes of equipment failures using appropriate diagnostic tools.
- Escalate unresolved complex technical issues to international manufacturers and follow up until complete resolution.
- Calibration & Technical Documentation:
- Perform equipment calibration and electrical/operational safety inspections according to applicable standards.
- Maintain accurate service history records for every installed device and update the company’s internal service management system.
- Document recurring technical issues, corrective actions, and submit technical reports within established timelines.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Profession / Field of Study: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Work Experience: 0, 2, or 4 years of progressive technical experience in medical equipment maintenance, installation, or field technical support.
2. Application Specialist (IVD & Laboratory Systems)
- Position Title: Application Specialist
- Place of Work: Addis Ababa
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Required Experience: Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Product Demonstration & Sales Support:
- Conduct professional clinical and operational product demonstrations for prospective and existing customers, highlighting the technical benefits of IVD and laboratory equipment.
- Provide specialized technical support during sales visits, exhibitions, and technical seminars.
- Deliver scientific presentations on new laboratory technologies, innovations, and best practices.
- System Configuration & User Training:
- Configure application parameters, test menus, quality control settings, calibration protocols, and user profiles on IVD analyzers.
- Verify instrument operational compliance before formal customer handover.
- Deliver comprehensive training to laboratory professionals on instrument operation, reagent preparation, routine maintenance, and result interpretation.
- Develop structured training programs, user manuals, quick reference guides, and application notes.
- Quality Control & Clinical Evaluation:
- Assist customer laboratories in evaluating analytical accuracy, precision, linearity, carryover, sensitivity, and specificity.
- Support laboratories in establishing Internal Quality Control (IQC) and External Quality Assessment (EQA) programs.
- Monitor QC data and recommend corrective actions when analytical deviations occur.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Educational Background: B.Sc. or M.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry, or related health science fields.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 2 to 4 years of direct professional experience in IVD application support, clinical laboratory operations, or laboratory equipment management.
- Desired Expertise: Direct experience working with IVD analyzers (Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Immunology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Microbiology, or Molecular Diagnostics) is highly desirable.
