
The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is seeking a qualified and dedicated professional to join its team in Semera. This role is focused on the critical functions of monitoring human rights standards and investigating potential violations to ensure the protection of all citizens.
Position: Human Rights Officer, Monitoring and Investigation
Role Summary: Responsible for conducting field monitoring, receiving complaints, and performing investigations into human rights allegations. The officer will contribute to reports and advocate for legal and systemic protections within the region.
- Education: MA or BA Degree in Law, LLM, Human Rights Law, International Law, or related legal fields.
- Experience: * BA holders: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
- MA/LLM holders: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Location: Semera City Office.
- Language: Fluency in Amharic is required; knowledge of other local languages (such as Afariffa) is highly advantageous.
Remuneration & Benefits
- Monthly Salary: 27,129 ETB – 31,405 ETB (Based on experience level).
- House Allowance: 12,100 ETB.
- Transport Allowance: 4,000 ETB.

- Must be computer literate (MS Office and data management).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with integrity.
