In joint venture with Sichuan Road & Bridge Group and in partnership with China Railway First Survey and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd. (FSDI), CCECC is executing the Ethiopia-Djibouti Transport Corridor Project (Mieso-Dire Dawa Expressway Section 1: Mieso (65km) – Bike (138km)). Open Vacancies

1. Geotechnical Engineer

  • Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer
  • Number Required: 12 (Twelve)
  • Location / Duty Station: Project Site (Ethiopia-Djibouti Transport Corridor Project: Mieso–Bike Section)
  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Salary & Compensation: Competitive salary (negotiable based on qualifications, experience, and capability)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary technical liaison for geotechnical engineering coordination within the FSDI design team.
  • Conduct and review comprehensive geological surveys, soil test data, and geotechnical investigation reports.
  • Support subgrade, embankment, slope, and structural foundation designs tailored to site-specific geological conditions.
  • Provide technical direction on-site during geological investigations and solve site-specific engineering challenges.
  • Develop engineering treatment and stabilization solutions for adverse or complex ground conditions.
  • Enforce strict compliance with AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) and ERA (Ethiopian Roads Administration) design standards.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or above in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of overall professional experience, with at least 6 years specifically dedicated to geotechnical engineering in highway/transportation infrastructure.
  • Licensure: Valid Ethiopian Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Technical Skills: * Proficient in specialized geological, surveying, and geotechnical design software.
    • Practical experience in geological surveys and adverse ground treatment for expressways/highways.
    • Thorough knowledge of ERA guidelines and AASHTO design specifications.
  • Language Skills: Excellent written and oral English communication skills. Proficiency in the Chinese language is an added advantage.
  • Basic Criteria:
    • Nationality: Ethiopian national.
    • Age: 25 – 48 years old; physically fit and adaptable to a fast-paced on-site project environment.
    • Familiarity with local laws, cultural customs, and transport sector regulations across the Oromia and Somali regional states.

2. Document Controller

  • Job Title: Document Controller
  • Location / Duty Station: Head Office (Addis Ababa), Ethiopia
  • Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, organize, and continuously update project documentation, engineering drawings, contract records, and official correspondence.
  • Establish and oversee document filing, archiving, and retrieval systems in line with standard operating procedures.
  • Manage the controlled issuance, tracking, and distribution of drawings, technical submittals, and documents to project managers and engineers.
  • Monitor document workflows, submittal review cycles, and tracking logs to ensure timely approvals.
  • Provide documentation and administrative support to engineering teams, project managers, and client representatives.
  • Ensure strict adherence to CCECC and client document control standards and quality management protocols.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Supply/Records Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in document control, preferably within construction, engineering, or infrastructure project environments.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Solid knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) and MS Office Suite.
    • Outstanding organizational, record-keeping, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and consistently meet tight project deadlines.
