EducationUSA Scholars Program 2024

EducationUSA Scholars Program (ESP) aims to facilitate access to higher education in the United States for academically talented international students. The program, organized by the Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa, is seeking to identify 20 Ethiopian students to join the 2024 ESP cohort. The objective is to assist high-achieving Ethiopian students in the admissions process to U.S. colleges and universities, ultimately contributing to the development of skilled and educated leaders for Ethiopia’s future.

Program Details:

  • The ESP program offers organized cohort advising sessions to guide students through the U.S. college application process and financial aid application.
  • It includes academic counseling, assistance with standardized tests (TOEFL, SAT), and support for college application essay writing.
  • Selection of students is based on academic records, essays, and an interview process.
  • Among the 20 finalists, 15 economically disadvantaged students will be selected for the Opportunity Program Fund (OPF), covering costs related to standardized tests, U.S. visa fees, and providing round-trip tickets to the U.S. for the first few successful candidates.
