CARE began its work in Ethiopia in 1984 in response to severe drought and famine that devastated the population, claiming nearly one million lives. Over the years, CARE Ethiopia’s activities have expanded to address the root causes of poverty and vulnerability. Since 2008, CARE Ethiopia has transitioned from a project-based approach to a more strategic, program-based approach, which has led to successful program outcomes and broader impacts on policies, practices, and rural communities.

Job Summary:
The Senior Account Analyst assists the Accounts Manager in overseeing and managing daily country office (CO) accounting and finance functions. This includes timely recording of transactions, cash management, banking, inventory, receivables, and payables. The role also involves maintaining bank signatory data, processing signatory changes, analyzing and liquidating legal obligations (tax, pension, cost share, purchase declarations), managing emergency cash assistance projects, reviewing petty cash and other revolving funds, managing wire transfers to field offices, and handling periodic accruals.
