Position: Director, Financial Planning, Analysis and Modelling

Job Summary:

The Director of Financial Planning, Analysis and Modelling leads Coopbank’s strategic financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance reporting. This senior leadership role reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and plays a critical role in driving informed decision-making and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Partnering

  • Collaborate with senior leadership on long-term strategic financial plans
  • Offer financial recommendations based on internal performance and market conditions
  • Provide financial modeling, scenario analysis, and advisory for key decisions
  • Promote cross-functional alignment between business strategy and financial goals

2. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead annual and quarterly budget planning and rolling forecasts
  • Analyze revenue, cost drivers, and efficiency metrics
  • Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions

3. Financial Modeling

  • Build robust financial models for stress testing and capital strategy
  • Assess funding strategies and support decisions on capital investments and M&A opportunities

4. Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Deliver insightful financial reports to senior leadership and the Board
  • Evaluate KPIs including NIM, ROA, and Cost-to-Income Ratio
  • Conduct profitability and performance analysis across business units

5. Capital Allocation, Risk Management & Compliance

  • Assist with capital planning and regulatory compliance (IFRS, Basel III)
  • Collaborate with Risk and Treasury to manage liquidity and financial risks
  • Conduct scenario planning and financial risk assessments

6. Digital Transformation & Process Optimization

  • Automate FP&A processes and utilize BI tools for real-time reporting
  • Implement dashboards and visualization tools to enhance financial insights

Job Qualifications:

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration
    Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, ACCA are preferred
  • Experience:
    Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in financial planning and modeling
    Preferably within the banking or financial services industry
  • Skills:
    • Advanced financial modeling and scenario analysis expertise
    • Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, and Excel modeling
    • Strong knowledge of IFRS, Basel III, and capital adequacy standards
    • Familiarity with financial planning software and BI tools
