🎯 Job Summary
The Loan Officer is responsible for promoting Digaf’s payday loan products, verifying applicants, managing loans through the full cycle, and ensuring on-time repayments. The role includes field visits, customer relationship management, and supporting retention through excellent service.
📌 Key Responsibilities
1. Loan Promotion & Client Onboarding
- Promote payday loan products to potential clients
- Educate borrowers about loan terms, repayment, and financial responsibility
- Onboard new clients in line with compliance policies
2. Customer Verification & Field Visits
- Conduct physical verification of borrower details (workplace, ID, etc.)
- Validate customer documents: Kebele/National ID, employee ID, bank statements
3. Loan Application Processing
- Assess eligibility based on credit policy
- Submit complete loan files to the verification team
4. Repayment Monitoring & Collection
- Track repayment schedules for assigned portfolio
- Follow up regularly to ensure on-time payments
- Work with late clients to resolve repayment issues
5. Delinquency Management
- Take proactive steps to avoid and manage loan delinquency
6. Customer Retention
- Maintain strong relationships with clients
- Encourage repeat business and renewals
7. Reporting
- Maintain accurate loan records and prepare regular reports
🎓 Educational Qualification & Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in any field (experience not required)
- Experience in fieldwork or customer service is an advantage
