Data Clerk Intern

Agriterra is an international, not-for-profit agri-agency founded by Dutch farmers’ organizations and cooperatives. Agriterra’s mission is to strengthen organized farmers in developing and emerging countries to sustainably address food security, economic development, climate adaptation, and mitigation. The organization works through donor-granted projects and programs, establishing long-lasting strategic partnerships with various donors. Agriterra has been active in Ethiopia since 2015, focusing on supporting cooperatives.


Internship Overview:
The Data Clerk Intern will assist with Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) tasks, including collecting necessary documents for project monitoring and evaluation, registering farmer and cooperative data in the reporting software Agro-info.net (AIN), and ensuring proper documentation and validation of collected data.


Duration:
August 20th, 2024 – December 31st, 2024


Skill and Educational Background:

  • Education: University Degree in Business, Economics, Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, Computer Science, or any related fields.
  • Knowledge: Data recording, database systems, marketing, entrepreneurship/business development, and sales.
  • Experience: No prior experience required.
  • Competencies:
  • Flexible with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, report writing, problem-solving, and networking skills.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
  • Fluency in English and Amharic.

The project improves incomes, productivity, and sustainable land management practices by offering sustainable services to boost food production and relieve food insecurity risks. The project supports 17 primary cooperatives in Ethiopia involved in wheat, maize, and potato value chains.
