Aggar Microfinance S.C. Vacancy Announcement

Aggar Microfinance S.C. is the first commercial, private microfinance institution established in Ethiopia. Operating under the National Bank of Ethiopia’s regulatory framework, Aggar is dedicated to serving the “missing middle” by delivering tailored credit and savings products across both urban and rural communities.

The institution’s Human Resource & Facility Administration Directorate is currently seeking qualified, detail-oriented financial professionals to fill three (3) distinct positions at its operations hub.

Open Positions & Specifications

1. Senior Accountant

  • Education: BA Degree in Accounting from a recognized university.
  • Experience Required: Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience, with a mandatory requirement of at least 2 years spent actively serving as an Accountant.
  • Core Competencies: * Comprehensive understanding of corporate accounting concepts, financial policies, and national reporting standards.
    • Direct working knowledge of National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) and Financial Intelligence Center (FIC) directives and regulations.
    • Preferred: Hands-on proficiency with specialized Core Banking software applications.

2. Senior Customer Service Officer (Senior CSO)

  • Education: MA or BA Degree in Marketing, Accounting, Management, Economics, or a related business field.
  • Experience Required: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience for MA holders, or 5 years for BA holders, operating within a related customer-facing financial position.
  • Core Competencies: * Deep practical knowledge of microfinance deposit and credit products.
    • Excellent interpersonal relationship-building, conflict resolution, and formal report-writing skills.
    • Clear understanding of the consumer-protection regulatory benchmarks guiding microfinance structures.

3. Accountant

  • Education: BA Degree in Accounting or a closely related financial field.
  • Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience processing financial data.
  • Core Competencies: * Strong foundational knowledge of standard ledger entries, balancing principles, and account reconciliation.
    • Proven capability to compile, sort, and prepare clear monthly or quarterly financial reports.
    • Preferred: Prior exposure to automated Core Banking systems.

Mandatory Skill & Registration Rules

  • Software Requirement: High-level mastery of the Microsoft Office suite—specifically Microsoft Excel and Word—is strictly mandatory for all three positions.
  • Experience Verification: In compliance with Aggar’s internal audit policies, all previous work experience must be fully verified and presented in written testimonial form at the time of initial registration.
