Standard Insurance Share Company is a prominent, newly established player in Ethiopia’s financial sector. Strongly backed by Awach SACCOS, the firm is preparing for a strategic market entry aimed at disrupting conventional insurance models through enhanced service quality, technological innovation, and customer-centric risk products.

As the company sets up its initial operations, it is seeking competent and driven professionals for six (6) vacant slots across its Addis Ababa and Bahir Dar branches.

Engineering & Technical Risk Assessment Roles

1. Engineering Officer II

  • Location / Duty Station: Addis Ababa

  • Education: BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a closely related industrial discipline from a recognized university.

  • Experience Required: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with a mandatory threshold of at least 1 year spent serving explicitly as an Engineering Officer I inside the insurance industry.

  • Core Mandate: Conduct high-level technical valuation of machinery, execute complex automotive accident damage appraisals, and manage technical risk assessments for commercial clients.

2. Engineering Officer I

  • Location / Duty Station: Addis Ababa

  • Education: BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering field from a recognized university.

  • Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year of relevant technical experience explicitly within the insurance industry.

  • Core Mandate: Support the claims and underwriting departments with automated system diagnostics, baseline asset valuations, and site vehicle inspection reports.

Branch Leadership & Operational Roles

3. Branch Manager III

  • Location / Duty Station: Bahir Dar

  • Education: BA/BSc Degree in Management, Accounting, Economics, or a related business field from a recognized university.

  • Experience Required: Minimum of 6 years of relevant banking or insurance experience, out of which at least 1 year must be served directly in a Branch Manager capacity.

4. Underwriting Officer II

  • Location / Duty Station: Bahir Dar

  • Education: BA/BSc Degree in Management, Statistics, Economics, Marketing, or related fields from a recognized university.

  • Experience Required: Minimum of 3 years of relevant insurance experience, with a baseline of at least 1 year serving explicitly as an Underwriting Officer I.

5. Senior Risk and Compliance Management Officer

  • Location / Duty Station: Addis Ababa

  • Education: BA/BSc Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or related fields from a recognized university.

  • Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience across internal risk management, financial audit, or operations, with at least 2 years spent as a Risk and Compliance Management Officer II.

6. Secretary Cashier

  • Location / Duty Station: Bahir Dar

  • Education: College Diploma in Accounting from a recognized university or college, accompanied by a valid Certificate of Competency (COC) Pass.

  • Experience Required: Minimum of 4 years of solid experience operating as a professional Cashier or Teller.

  • Terms of Employment: All positions are offered on a Permanent basis following the successful completion of the company’s baseline probationary period.
