ILRI Internship: Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Unit

The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) is seeking an undergraduate intern to join its ICT department at the Addis Ababa campus. ILRI is a premier CGIAR research center focused on livestock science to improve food security and livelihoods in developing countries.


Position Overview

  • Position Title: ILRI Internship: Information Communication and Technology Unit

  • Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
  • Duration: 3 months
  • Benefits: Monthly stipend and medical insurance coverage for the duration of the internship.

Key Responsibilities

The intern will support ILRI’s ICT service desk and assist with daily operational tasks, including:

  • Service Desk Support: Manning the ICT service desk, managing support tickets, and assigning them to appropriate technicians.
  • Technical Assistance: Providing basic troubleshooting and support to users, running routine diagnostics on ICT systems, and installing software or hardware on endpoints.
  • Meeting Coordination: Assisting with the technical setup for physical and virtual meetings.
  • System Maintenance: Cleaning up records within various ICT systems and testing new software or technical tools.
  • Logistics: Delivering hardware and computing resources to staff as required.

Requirements

  • Education: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate university degree program pursuing a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Languages: Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Attributes: Eagerness to learn across multiple ICT functions (business systems, SharePoint, cybersecurity, hardware, and networking).
