International Medical Corps (IMC) is a global humanitarian organization dedicated to saving lives and building self-reliance. They are currently seeking qualified professionals for two positions in Ethiopia. Please note: IMC never asks for fees during the recruitment process.


Position 1: Surge Medical Doctor

The Surge Medical Doctor provides emergency and general clinical care to support health facilities facing high patient inflow or humanitarian crises.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Clinical Care: Provide care in emergency, outpatient, and inpatient settings, including managing trauma and severe infections.
    • Staff Mentorship: Supervise and mentor nurses, medical officers, and junior clinical staff.
    • Operations: Ensure accurate medical record-keeping and implement infection prevention and control (IPC) practices.
    • Coordination: Manage patient referrals to higher-level facilities and participate in emergency preparedness.
  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Education: Medical Doctor (MD) with a valid license to practice.
    • Experience: At least two years of clinical experience, including emergency care.
    • Skills: Fluency in English; proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to work under pressure in fast-paced outbreak environments.
    • Preference: Experience in humanitarian or low-resource settings is preferred.

Position 2: Senior Finance Officer

The Senior Finance Officer manages the country program’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with internal policies, donor regulations, and local laws.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Financial Management: Oversee daily accounting functions, including payroll, cash management, banking, and inventory.
    • Grant & Audit: Prepare donor financial reports, track pipelines, and facilitate annual audit preparations.
    • Systems: Implement internal controls and manage accounting entries in ERP systems like Costpoint-Deltek.
    • Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports, cash flow projections, and VAT reporting for government bodies.
    • Collaboration: Review procurement requests and coordinate with program teams to align budgets and spending.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Education: Typically a 4-year University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
    • Experience: 4+ years of relevant and progressive finance/accounting experience.
    • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with donor regulations (USAID, ECHO, UN, etc.) and computerized accounting/ERP systems.
    • Skills: Fluency in English; ability to work independently with minimal technical support.
