Operating in Ethiopia since 1998, BGI Ethiopia is a major force in the beverage sector, managing six breweries across Addis Ababa, Zeway, Hawassa, Kombolcha, Zebidar, Raya, and Manta. The company is seeking an experienced, strategic leader to fill the role of Data & Analytics Manager within its Enterprise Technology division. This executive position will oversee master data management frameworks, analytics strategies, and business intelligence systems to support data-driven decision-making across all business units.
Core Responsibilities & Technical Mandates
- Master Data Strategy & Integration: Architect and deploy an enterprise-wide master data management (MDM) strategy to integrate, clean, enrich, and synchronize critical operational datasets (customer, product, financial, and vendor data) across disparate IT systems.
- Data Governance & Quality Control: Establish rigid data quality metrics, define enterprise data standards, and implement data procedures to maintain consistency across all production and commercial networks.
- Business Intelligence & Advanced Analytics: Define and execute the organization’s overarching analytics strategy. Oversee the rollout and ongoing optimization of business intelligence applications while leading advanced analytics initiatives like customer segmentation, market trend analysis, and demand forecasting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with Group Process Owners to harmonize data protocols across production, logistics, and finance workflows. Contibute to the design of optimized data pipelines and lead internal training programs on proper data handling.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the internal Master Data Management team, resolving structural data issues and providing high-level technical oversight.
Applicant Profile & Selection Requirements
Educational Background:
- MSc or BSc Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Business Administration, or closely related technical disciplines.
Post-Graduation Experience Thresholds:
- For MSc Degree Holders: Minimum of 8 years of progressive professional experience.
- For BSc Degree Holders: Minimum of 10 years of progressive professional experience.
- Mandatory Management Layer: At least 3 years serving explicitly in a Managerial or Supervisory role directly handling data management, corporate analytics, or business intelligence teams.
Required Technical Skills & Tool Competencies:
- Extensive, practical experience in data modeling, database management, and enterprise data integration pipelines.
- High proficiency with data management and business intelligence tools, specifically SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Practical working familiarity with international master data management suites (such as SAP MDM, Informatica, or Oracle MDM).
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead a diverse team under pressure.
