Position Title: Cashier / Cash Accountant

(Field Office – Jinka)

Organization Overview

International Medical Corps (IMC) is a global humanitarian organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs. IMC focuses on community-based primary health care and prioritizes capacity building by hiring and training local staff.


Position Summary

The position holder is responsible for independently managing cash accounting and related financial activities at the Jinka Field Office, in compliance with IMC policies, procedures, and donor regulations.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Handle daily cash transactions and reconciliation
  • Ensure all cash/cheque payments and collections are properly documented and authorized
  • Update daily Cash Transaction Journal (CTJ) and share with Finance staff for posting to CostPoint
  • Maintain cash box security and update daily cash balances in TMS
  • Ensure proper coding before payment settlement
  • Request timely cash replenishment when minimum balance is reached
  • Issue Withholding Tax Receipts where applicable
  • Coordinate effectively with Country Office and project teams
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documents
  • Follow up on settlement of cash travel advances
  • Maintain proper filing according to IMC standards
  • Prepare and settle staff Provident Fund payments
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent field

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • INGO experience is preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong accounting skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
