Job Summary:
The Midwife is responsible for providing comprehensive care to women during all stages of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum, as well as ensuring the well-being of newborns. This role involves identifying high-risk pregnancies, delivering babies, and offering follow-up care to patients after labor. The Midwife collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care for patients and advocates for holistic, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care and counseling to women throughout the prenatal, pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum periods.
- Perform physical examinations and monitor the health of both mother and baby during pregnancy.
- Assist women during labor and childbirth, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques.
- Monitor and assess the condition of newborns immediately after birth.
- Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, and diagnostic tests as necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.
- Educate and counsel patients about reproductive health, childbirth, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
- Maintain accurate records of patient medical histories, procedures, and interactions.
- Advocate for holistic, patient-centered care and contribute to reducing maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality.
Skill and Educational Background:
- BSc degree in Midwifery from a recognized University.
- Professional licensing certificate required.
- Work Experience:
- 0 – 1 year: Required number – 3
- 3 years: Required number – 3
- Personal Qualities:
- Attention to detail to observe potential health risks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Passion for infant care.
- Good communication skills.
